I love visiting museums and visitor centers.
I am a person of interaction and it seems that museums just know how to magically generate an interaction between the visitors and exhibition. I find it fascinating and inspiring. If you think of it - we are talking about an interaction between people and objects that most of the time they can’t even touch.
It is quite remarkable and even admirable.
Some museums and visitor centers who cherish this interaction and value the importance of immersive and interactive exhibitions even have the courage to create or embed a virtual reality exhibition in their museum.
Virtual reality (VR) exhibitions are becoming increasingly popular in museums and cultural institutions around the world. With VR technology, museums can offer visitors a more immersive and engaging experience. They can provide access to rare or fragile objects that may not be on display, or to out-of-reach locations such as outer space, faraway galaxies, the bottom of the ocean, and the prehistoric era. VR can also allow visitors to experience historical events, see the world from the point of view of a mosquito, and enter magical fantasy worlds.
Just to share, one of my biggest passions is the mysteries of the Great Pyramids. I am constantly exploring the idea with my team of taking a journey through history and the Great Pyramids. Imagine how wonderful, mythical, and boundary-breaking it would be to wander through the corridors of the pyramids, see graves and mummies, and even go back in time to the ancient people who lived there.
Moreover, creating new VR exhibitions can and should be a more cost-effective and efficient way for museums to provide new content without the need for expensive physical installations or renovations. Ultimately, VR exhibitions allow museums to offer visitors an exciting and engaging experience while being mindful of cost and sustainability.
